Pro Filmmaker Apps has been a resource for over 1 million filmmakers worldwide and counting.

Originally a pro-bono labor of love here at FWD:labs since 2008, funded solely by commissions through Apple's now-obsolete affiliate program, we're now looking for site sponsors to help Pro Filmmaker Apps remain a cutting-edge resource for film professionals.

This site has a wide reach for almost two decades now, driving traffic to app downloads with superior searching and categorization than app store or other directories. Here are our 2025-2026 annual stats, as recorded in our Google Analytics 4 setup:

Currently, we can offer the following sponsorship options:

Dedicated buy-out (e.g. only sponsorship visible) vs. shared with other sponsors (e.g. mini group randomization)
Direct outbound link to one app store listing
Single week/month or longer-term durations

Sponsor ads will be shown in an unobtrusive 1:1 block above or close to the viewport "fold" on:

Device specific page (where applicable)
Tag specific page (where applicable)

For example, if your app is on iOS, it can be on our iPhone and iPad pages. If your app is for camera assistants, it can be on our Camera Assistants page.

This is all in addition to your current non-sponsored listing, which will continue to be ranked by last updated in our system. Sponsors can get their listings refreshed too, benefitting from top placements faster, as long as their app actually posted an approved update to the relevant app store or official site.

We only accept sponsors who are already in our database. This ensures a level of quality for both website users and app developers.

Visually, the ad unit size is 200x200. We can display the app store logo or a sponsor-provided 1:1 JPG/PNG/GIF/MP4 that's acceptable to our aesthetics and hosted on our server, like a variant app icon. We also will display the app name and an adjacent label identifying sponsored content (to be compliant with the FCC). Ad views and clicks will be racked to ensure transparency about the sponsorship's effictiveness as brand awareness and/or conversions. We also may experiment with similar, smaller size placements at no additional cost (e.g. a list of all site sponsors) to find the right balance between grabbing attention and providing utility.

As of September 2026, we have not offered paid ads on the site before. Once we debut with inaugural sponsors for Q4 2026 / Q1 2027, we'll share a pricing table. Sponsors who get in first will get a discount.

Once we've reviewed the sponsorship application, and confirmed with you by email the quote and payment link, we can then schedule the sponsorship ad to run! At thee nd of your sponsored period, we'll share the total ad views and ad clicks data as captured on our end, separate from the free traffic we already provide your app — which we can also share for no additional cost as a site sponsor. (Only page views are public to all, not the app store click counts.)
